Long Beach, Calif. - Due to continuing heavy rains in the Los Angeles area, the 49er tennis opener at USC has been postponed from its initial start at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Long Beach State head coach Jenny Hilt-Costello and the USC coaching staff will meet later in the week to discuss possible dates to reschedule the match.
The 49ers return four players from last year's Big West Championship team, and also welcome a strong group of freshman under the guidance of Hilt-Costello and first-year assistant coach Hannah Grady, who returns to Beach Tennis after an amazing four-year run where she became the winningest player in school history.
