Long Beach, Calif. - Senior tennis player Hannah Grady continues to receive accolades following an outstanding year, being named a first-team Academic All-District selection by CoSIDA. With a first-team selection, Grady is eligible to be named an Academic All-American, a first for the tennis program.
Grady finished the 2009 season by earning a fourth Big West Player of the Year nod, a first for the Big West in any sport, finishing her collegiate career with a 41-1 record in Big West singles matches.
Nationally ranked during most of her four-year career, Grady also has excelled in the classroom. A political science major with a 3.93 GPA, Grady was named Academic All-District in 2008, is a three-time Academic All-Big West selection and has been twice named to the ITA's National All-Academic team.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America program has specific categories for seven sports: Soccer, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, and Track and Field. Any other NCAA sport falls into the at-large category, honoring the nation's best among the other sports.
