On The Big West
Long Beach State took the first step in continuing their run of Big West Championships last week, starting the conference season 2-0 win wins against Cal State Northridge and Cal State Fullerton. The 49ers began the weekend by grabbing their first win at the new Rhodes Tennis Center, stopping Cal State Northridge 5-2 before sweeping Cal State Fullerton 7-0, including winning all three doubles matches.
Back In Action
The 49ers keep busy with two more matches this week, both at the Rhodes Tennis Center. The Beach starts off the weekend with its third Big West contest, hosting UC Riverside, before welcoming in another ranked opponent in No. 58 Saint Mary's. The UCR match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, and the Gaels and the 49ers will get started on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Grady Gets It
Hannah Grady enters the week with 147 total wins combined with doubles and singles. Already the winningest player in Long Beach State singles history, any combination of two wins this weekend will make the senior the winningest player in Long Beach State tennis history combined. Grady will get her first chance on Friday against UC Riverside, and will then get two more cracks against Saint Mary's.
