Beach Tennis concludes fall season at ITA Southwest Regional

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State tennis finishes the Fall tournament season with entry into the Fall ITA Championships, beginning with the Southwest regional hosted jointly by San Diego and San Diego State.
Long Beach State will bring nearly the entire team south, entering six singles players and three doubles teams into the major Fall tournament. #121 Anais Dallara is the highest placed player for The Beach, receiving a No. 12 seed in the singles draw, where she will receive a bye into the round of 64.
Also receiving a bye into the second round is sophomore Rachel Manasse, who will participate in her first singles action of the year. Freshman Jaklin Alawi will play Anna Yang of CS Northridge in the first round, and with a win will face the No. 1 seed Kelcy McKenna of Arizona State. Fellow freshman Anna Jeczmionka will also play a Sun Devil, facing Ashlee Brown in the first round.
Junior Deborah Armstrong plays UC Irvine's Coutney Byron in the round of 128, and Julie Luzar will try to stay undefeated in singles, taking her 8-0 record this fall into the first round against Andrea Oates of Pepperdine.
In Doubles, Alawi and Manasse are the first pair to compete, playing in the round of 64 against one of the host teams, Olivia Colman and Naseem Eslami of San Diego State. Dallara and Armstrong come off of a first-round bye to face Lise Marbach and Justine Perl, and following a bye, Jeczmionka and Luzar face Sarah Landsman and Ariane Masschelein of Arizona.
Play at the ITA Regionals continues through Monday, October 26.
