Long Beach, CA. -- Long Beach State women's tennis has announced the signing of Anais Dallara (Valbonne, France) to a national letter of intent for the 2008-2009 season.
"Anais is a highly skilled player with excellent results who will come in and make an immediate impact in our line up," Head Coach Jenny Hilt-Costello said. "She also brings with her an excellent academic history which is required in our international recruiting."
Dallara is from the South of France near Cannes. Her French national rating is a -4/6, which is considered to be a very strong player. Her most recent results have included reaching the tournament semi-finals in Carcassone, the finals in Cagnes Sur Mer and a tournament championship in Cannes.
Dallara joins fall letter of intent signees Rachael Manasee (Redondo Beach) and Julie Luzar (Anaheim) in the September 2008 incoming class.
"Our incoming freshman class will improve the depth of our line up next season," added Coach Hilt-Costello.
The 49ers, who won the Big West Tournament for the fifth-straight year on Sunday, await NCAA Pairings on Tuesday. The team loses two seniors from its eight-person squad and had three freshmen in it's starting six.
