49ers to Host Double Dip on Tuesday

LONG BEACH-- Long Beach State Women's Water Polo (9-10) will host a pair of non-conference games on Tuesday, against Maryland (16-6) at noon and Princeton (11-6) at 3 p.m. at the campus pool. The 49ers have split their last six contests.
The Terrapins are coming off a 4-0 record at the Claremont Invitational following wins over Claremont-Mudd and CS San Bernardino, while the Tigers split their final two games at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego and went 4-1 in America's Finest City this past weekend.
The 49ers split their two games on Saturday in San Diego, falling 9-7 to the host Aztecs, after leading for three quarters, before blowing out Colorado State 14-6. In the final game against the Rams, Lauren Sieprath had a career-best five goals.
Senior Dayna Wawrzysnki continues to led the team in scoring with a career-best 31 goals, while Lauren Sieprath is on her fins, scoring 28 goals in two less games. Sieprath has scored at least two goals in six of the past nine games. Freshman Kelsie Emerick has made a late season run, scoring eight of her 14 goals over the last six games, while sophomore Branwyn Lee has goals in five of her last six.
Wawrzysnki and Sieprath primarily have led the team in scoring this season, with both leading the team in scoring in seven games this season.
Lee is shooting a team-best .475 from the pool, while Wawrzynski is shooting .431. Keala O'Sullivan (14), Sieprath (13) and Geraldine Di Tommaso (12) are the leaders in steals this year.
LBSU will then have 11 days off before playing at Stanford and at San Jose State at the end of the month.
