Bengson Earns Player of the Week Award

LONG BEACH--Senior Stephanie Bengson was named the Big West's Player of the Week following wins over UC Davis and UC Irvine last weekend, announced on Friday by the Big West Conference.
The Australian native entered the week 10 wins away from the all-time singles record (74), and has teamed with partner Hannah Grady to win 10-straight heading into Saturday's match against Nevada at the Costa Mesa Tennis Courts at 880 Junipero Street in Costa Mesa.
Bengson won both doubles matches last weekend and defeated both singles opponents at the No. 2 position.
Bengson is 13-10 overall in singles play this season and a combined 14-6 in doubles play. She is 14-4 when playing with Grady, earning a No. 52 national ranking earlier this year.
This is the third player of the week award for the team, as Grady won two earlier this spring for the No. 32-ranked 49ers.
