USC-49er Match Suspended Again

49ers and USC Forced to Stop Due to Weather LOS ANGELES-- After two re-starts, No. 41-ranked Long Beach State and No. 8 USC has been suspended yet again, with the Women of Troy winning three singles matches so far and the 49ers leading in two others after play was suspended for the second straight day due to weather in the Southern California region. The match will now have to be replayed with a date to be determined. Already winning for USC were Amanda Fink at the No. 2 position over Deborah Armstrong, Gabriela Niculescu at the No. 4 position over Stephanie Jeanes and No. 6 Leyla Entekhabi over Emmanuelle Tabatruong. The battle for the top spot of the order at 49er Hannah Grady leading Lindsey Nelson, 6-4, 2-1 and No. 3 player, Stephanie Bengson, leading Sarah Fansler, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1. Maria Sanchez at the No. 5 position, was leading Jessica Weeks 6-3, 3-2. The doubles matches were moved to the back of the match on Wednesday due to rain. DOUBLES (not played) SINGLES |
