Grady Named Athlete of the Week
Junior Earns First Weekly Honor of the Season

IRVINE-- Long Beach State's Hannah Grady (Coventry, England) was named the Big West Conference's Athlete of the Week, along with Cal Poly's Shannon Brady, after cruising past her opponents from the University of San Diego to open the season last week.

Grady, the team's No. 1 player, won in straight sets over Monica Wiesener, 6-0, 6-0 and teamed with Stephanie Bengson to beat Milou Teeling and Carla Tamborini 8-1.

Grady, a junior, is the two-time Big West Player of the Year and has 97 combined wins, going 17-5 this season heading into her match with No. 10-ranked USC on Thursday.
