49ers Announce Two Signees
Jessica Weeks & Katy Williams Sign Letters

LONG BEACH, CA-- Head Women's Tennis Coach Jenny Hilt-Costello announced today the signing of two players to National-Letters-of-Intent to attend Long Beach State in the fall. Inking with The Beach are Jessica Weeks (London, England) and Katy Williams (London, England). Both players will be freshman this fall.
"The addition of Katy and Jessica strengthens Beach Tennis as we strive to further move up in the national rankings," said Hilt-Costello. "Katy has a very strong tournament background and has the highest British rating of any player we have previously signed. Jessica is a tall lefty with a big serve and forehand. She has also proven to be a strong doubles player with multiple tournament titles. I expect both to contribute immediately and to continue the forward momentum of Beach Tennis."
Weeks is a veteran of 20 ITF junior and women's events. A left-hander, she holds a 1.5 Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) rating in Britian. She has had extensive doubles success as a junior, including a national championship in the Under 15's. Williams is a top player out of England who holds a 1.3 LTA mark. She has played over 20 ITF junior and women's events. Her LTA rating is comparable to a Top 250 ITF Junior World Ranking. She is the highest-rated British recruit Long Beach State has signed. |
