49ers Rebound with 12-4 Win over CS Northridge
BERKELEY, CA-- No. 5-ranked Long Beach State (21-8) responded after a disappointing loss to Hawaii yesterday with a convincing 12-4 win over CS Northridge (17-17) on the third day of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships. The 49ers will play for fifth place on Sunday against sixth-seeded California at noon. The Beach pounded the Matador net all day long going up 8-2 after two periods and making it 12-3 after the first 21 minutes of play. Drue Wawrzynski (Garden Grove) scored a career-best four goals, while Alison Braden and Jessica Levin had two goals a piece. The selection of the eight-team NCAA Tournament in Ann Arbor, MI will take place on Monday at 5 p.m. live on CSTV. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
