LBSU to Host MPSFs This Weekend

MPSF Championships This Weekend LONG BEACH, CA-- Long Beach State will serve as the host for the 2004 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Water Polo Championships from Friday, April 30 to Sunday, May 2 at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Center. Results for each contest, starting on 10 a.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday will be posted within an hour after each team's scheduled match at www.longbeachstate.com. No. 1-ranked USC is the top seed, followed by Stanford, UCLA and San Diego State. The 49ers will be the fifth seed and play at 1:45 p.m. against 12th-seeded Pacific. All tournament tickets are on sale now through the Long Beach State website for $27 for adults and $17 for students and seniors. Since the Joint Forces Training Center is a military base, everyone coming to the Championships must have a valid government issued ID. The winner of the Championships, along with one at-large selection, likely from the MPSF, will join Loyola Marymount and Hartwyk at the NCAA Championships in Palo Alto on May 8 and 9.
