LBSU Hosts Final Two This Week

49ers Close Out Home Schedule This Week LONG BEACH, CA-- The No. 59-ranked Long Beach State women's tennis team (14-7, 6-2 Big West) will host their final two matches of the regular season this week, when Hawaii (8-10) comes to town on Thursday at 2 p.m., and No. 34-ranked Oregon (14-8) plays on Friday at 2 p.m. Both matches will be played on the campus courts. In their last match on April 9, The Beach halted their mini two-game slide with a 4-3 triumph at UC Santa Barbara. The Beach had won 11 straight before losing two straight matches to open the month. In those two matches, The Beach lost to Pacific, 4-3, on April 3 and at Cal Poly, 5-2, on April 8. The 49ers enter the final week of the regular season winners of 12 of their last 14. No. 1 singles player Nicole Bouffler has compiled a 14-7 record during dual competition and is 23-9 overall. No. 5 singles player Alanah Carroll is 15-6 in the spring, going 10-4 at the No. 5 singles position. Carroll's overall record stands at 21-11. No. 2 singles player Kelly Chan is 9-5 at the second spot in the order and 13-14 overall. Bouffler and Sandra Rocha have combined for a 15-6 record in doubles play on the 49ers No. 1 doubles team, while Chan and Carroll are 12-3 at the No. 2 spot. The Beach travel to the Big West Championships from April 23 to 26 in Indian Wells, CA.
