Beach Defeats Matadors, 6-1 The Beach began things by winning all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. At the No. 1 spot, Nicole Bouffler and Sandra Rocha won 8-2 over YuYu Myinttun and Olga Yepremian. At No. 2 doubles, Kelly Chan and Alanah Carroll improved to 9-1 this spring with an 8-2 win over Brittany Bierman and Katarzyna Krasinska. Lindsey Marvel and Krystina Katayama closed things out with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles over Sayaka Yoshimoto and Sonya Kumar. In singles, the 49ers won five of the six matches, four in straight sets. At the No. 1 spot, Bouffler won her ninth consecutive singles match with an easy 6-2, 6-1 win over Yepremian. Chan improved to 7-2 at the No. 2 spot with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Bierman and Carroll (No. 4), Emmanuelle Tabatruong (No. 5) and Claudia Argumedo (No. 6) all won in straight sets. The 49ers will be home on Saturday when they host the University of Idaho at 11 am at the 49er Campus Courts.
