49ers Fall to Third Straight Ranked Club SAN DIEGO, CA-- Long Beach State women's tennis (0-3) lost to its third straight to a ranked team to start the season, falling at No. 28-ranked San Diego State 5-2 on Saturday afternoon. Nicole Bouffler swept her spot at the #1 spot in the order, defeating SDSU's Katalina Romero in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2, while Claudia Argumedo claimed the #6 spot with a straight-set triumph over SDSU's Sarah Sansom, 6-1, 6-2. But the Aztecs would sweep the doubles point to start, before taking four of the six singles' spots. The 49ers have improved steadily against their ranked opponents to open the season, getting swept by No. 5-ranked USC in the season opener, before falling 6-1 to No. 43-ranked Pepperdine. LBSU begins a three-game homestand with CS Fullerton on February 14. Doubles Singles |
