FULLERTON, CA -- The No. 2 ranked Arizona Wildcats defeated Long Beach State, 8-0 in five innings, at the Fullerton/Kia Softball Classic on Friday afternoon. Long Beach State dropped to 10-14 on the season.

Riki Paredes and Kristina McCarty both tallied doubles for The Beach. Lindsey Knoff picked up the loss, giving up eight runs on 11 hits, and two strikeouts. Arizona scored five runs in the bottom of the second inning, courtesy of a Lovie Jung home run that drove in four runs. The Wildcats added three in the bottom of the fifth, before the game was called.

LBSU resumes play on Saturday versus CS Northridge at 9:00 a.m.
