Bouffler Wins Singles And Doubles Championships

SAN DIEGO, CA-- Long Beach State junior Nicole Bouffler (Orange, New South Wales, Australia) finished a great weekend for herself at the USD/San Diego State Invitational by winning both the main draw singles and doubles championships. In singles, she bounced Dita Hauerlandora of San Diego State, 6-2, 6-4. In doubles she teamed with Tammy Day to win 8-6 over the SDSU pair of Romero/Hauerlandora.

Bouffler, who was the #6 seed in the singles draw, won four matches over the three days to earn the title. In Saturday's semifinals she defeated Emma Murphy of USD 6-2, 7-5. Murphy was ranked #77 in the nation in the latest ITA Singles rankings.

This was the final Fall tournament for the 49ers. Their next action will be on January 17 when they take on their Alumni.
