That lead was pushed to 5-0 after Erik Healys (Manhattan Beach) goal at the 1:10 mark in the second quarter. Long Beach got on the board at the 0:44 mark just before the half when junior Nathan Allard (La Habra) found the back of the net for the first of his two goals.

We played with a lot of enthusiasm at the start, said 49er head coach Rick Azevedo. We werent playing badly today, we just didnt execute as well as we should have. I was proud of the way we fought back after being down 5-0. That showed a lot of courage. But, we didnt execute as well as we should have in the second half.
The 49ers will next be in action on Thursday, September 26 when they host Loyola Marymount at 4:00 pm at the 49er Campus Pool.
