Stewart Scores Four Goals in Debut SAN DIEGO, CA-The Long Beach State women's water polo (1-1) split their first two matches of the 2002 campaign, dropping their opener 6-4 to Hartwick (NY) before crushing UC Irvine 13-4 on the first day of the UC San Diego Tournament. New Zealand native Roberta Stewart, playing in her first match with The Beach, scored four goals on the day, two in each contest. The 49ers had led 3-0 against Hartwick, before they allowed the New Yorkers to score four unanswered to take a 4-3 lead at the half. LBSU took a 3-0 lead after the first period against UCI and cruised to their first victory of the season. Freshman Drue Wawrzynski and junior Ashley Richardson led LBSU with three goals a piece against the Anteaters.
