Nikolaji Freschlin

Nikolaj Freschlin is in his second season as a member of the coaching staff at Long Beach State in 2026. He will work with the Beach throwers.
Freschlin competed for LBSU in 2024, qualifying for the NCAA West Regional in the javelin with the fourth longest toss in school history, 229-8 which won the Big West Challenge Cup. He threw 220-11 at the NCAA regionals, and was in the top 12 until the third flight, finishing 17th in the field of 48. Freschlin was the Big West runner-up in the javelin (211-4), leading the meet until the final throw. He entered five javelin competitions, finishing first or second four times. He was a warded both USTFCCCA All-Academic and CSC Academic All-District honors.
Prior to joining the Long Breach State program, he spent three outdoor seasons at the University of Rhode Island.  A two-time NCAA Regional Qualifier in the Javelin, threw a best of 226-6 at the UCONN Northeast challenge as a junior. He placed second in the Javelin at the Atlantic 10 championships in 2021, third in 2022, and fourth in 2023.
