Beach Wraps Up Jarvis Scott Open, Now Turns Focus To MPSF Championships

Long Beach State indoor track and field concluded its regular-season indoor schedule Saturday at the Jarvis Scott Open in Lubbock, Texas, as the Beach now shifts its focus to the upcoming MPSF Indoor Championships.
LUBBOCK, Texas — Long Beach State indoor track and field closed out competition at the Jarvis Scott Open on Saturday at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center, adding several solid performances on the final day of the two-day meet.
MEN
Trey Sheron led the way for the Beach on the track, placing eighth in the 200 meters with a time of 21.01.
In the middle-distance events, Tarron Johnson recorded a time of 2:35.58 in the men's 1,000 meters.
WOMEN
Elisa Rodriguez paced Long Beach State in the women's 1,000 meters, finishing eighth with a time of 3:14.69.
In the women's 200 meters, Trinity Barnett and Zamaria Mack posted identical times of 24.34, finishing back-to-back in the event.
Long Beach State now turns its attention to the MPSF Indoor Championships, set for March 1-2 in Reno, Nevada. The Beach swept both the men's and women's team titles in 2024 and will look to capture both crowns again this season.
