Chiara Amoroso Named Final Big West Women’s Water Polo Player Of The Week

LONG BEACH, Calif. – After a career-high six goals to secure Long Beach State a crucial win in the Black and Blue Rivalry in sudden-death overtime, junior Chiara Amoroso was named Big West Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
Amoroso scored both the tying goal in overtime and the game winner to help the Beach secure the second seed heading into the conference Championship this week with the win. The junior attacker is having a standout season, scoring more this season than her previous two seasons combined, ranking third on the team with 53 goals.
No. 7 Long Beach State (15-10, 6-1 Big West) is set to host the Big West Championships from April 10-12. After securing the No. 2 seed, the Beach will face the No. 7 seed Cal State Fullerton in the quarterfinal round. Ball drops at 2:30 p.m. on Friday with live stats available through TheFOSH.net.
