Beach Splits Squad Between Bryan Clay Multis, Big West Challenge Cup

Long Beach State splits squad between multis and Big West Challenge Cup competition this weekend.
LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Long Beach State returns to action this weekend with athletes split between the multis events at Azusa Pacific and the rest of the squad competing at the Big West Challenge Cup hosted by Cal State Fullerton.

THIS WEEK
The Beach opens competition Thursday, April 9, at the Bryan Clay Multis hosted by Azusa Pacific University. The two-day meet, running through Friday, will feature only men's and women's heptathlon and decathlon.

The remainder of the Long Beach State roster will compete Friday, April 10, at the Big West Challenge Cup hosted by Cal State Fullerton. Field events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with competition continuing throughout the day, while track events are set to start at 3:30 p.m.

Long Beach State did not compete last weekend, but the Beach most recently split competition across meets at Drake Stadium and Allyson Felix Field at Loker Track Stadium.
Competing across multiple meets based on discipline, Long Beach State's sprinters highlighted the weekend at UCLA, where the Beach won the 4x100-meter relay and senior Tristyn Flores captured the 100-meter dash title with a time of 10.35.
