Beach Wins Events Across UCLA And USC on Split Saturday

Long Beach State closed its split weekend Saturday with multiple event victories and top finishes at both the Jim Bush Legends Meet and the Ron and Sharlene Allice Trojan Invitational.
LONG BEACH, Calif. — Long Beach State wrapped up a split weekend of outdoor competition Saturday with athletes competing at Drake Stadium during the Jim Bush Legends Meet and at Allyson Felix Field at Loker Track Stadium during the second day of the Ron and Sharlene Allice Trojan Invitational.
Women
At UCLA, Trinity Barnett led the Beach on the track with a runner-up finish in the 100 meters, crossing in 11.47 seconds before returning to place fourth in the 200 meters in 23.72.
Jaliyah Davis competed in both sprint events, running 57.88 in the 400 meters and 24.91 in the 200 meters. Daryana Hall added times of 12.26 in the 100 meters and 25.06 in the 200 meters, while Zariah Walker posted 12.50 in the 100.
Zamaria Mack ran 14.02 in the 100-meter hurdles, and Elisa Rodriguez finished the 800 meters in 2:20.40.
In the field events, Jonelle Scott placed third in the pole vault after clearing 3.98 meters (13 feet, ¾ inch).
KiiKii Brown finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.46 meters (40 feet, 10 1/2 inches) and also competed in the long jump, recording 5.68 meters (18 feet, 7 3/4 inches). Daneira Pellum posted 5.14 meters (16 feet, 10 1/2 inches) in the long jump, while Madeline Scovil recorded 10.81 meters (35 feet, 5 3/4 inches) in the triple jump.
Natasha King added a time of 5:17.20 in the 1,500 meters.
At USC, Rori Denness-Lamont finished second in the javelin with a throw of 50.30 meters (165 feet), while Kyra Miedecke placed third at 42.52 meters (139 feet, 6 inches). Mai Ricks added a fourth-place finish at 38.53 meters (126 feet, 5 inches) and earlier competed in the shot put with a mark of 12.92 meters (42 feet, 4 3/4 inches).
Men
At UCLA, Long Beach State opened the day with a victory in the men's 4x100-meter relay as Sebastian Lopez, Tristyn Flores, Adren Parker and Trey Sheron teamed up to win in 39.78.
Flores added an individual win in the 100 meters, taking first in 10.35 seconds, while Sheron placed third in 10.43. Lopez also competed in the event and ran 10.75.
In the 400 meters, Vincent Jones placed fourth in 47.03 and Parker followed closely in fifth at 47.07.
Sheron later added a fourth-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 20.93.
Long Beach State also saw Terrence Whaley finish sixth in the 110-meter hurdles at 14.25, with Cameron Simmons placing eighth in 14.35. Milo Orona also competed and ran 16.12.
In the men's 800 meters, Cameron Rhone led the Beach with a fifth-place finish in 1:50.88. Kyle Reden placed ninth in 1:52.87, while Lance Denhalter (1:54.00), Miles Jones (1:54.97), Cash Obando (1:55.97), Brandon Day (2:00.61) and Ethan Flores (2:04.39) also competed.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Jaden Dasher ran 53.88, followed by Whaley in 57.37 and Simmons in 1:01.76.
Ryan Gregory competed in the discus and recorded a mark of 40.88 meters (134 feet, 1 inch).
The Beach closed the UCLA meet with a third-place finish in the 4x400 relay as Vincent Jones, Parker, Dasher and Lopez combined for the top Long Beach State finish. A second Beach relay group of Terrance Whaley, Cameron Simmons, Ryan Rivituso, Trey Sheron, Tarron Johnson, Cameron Rhone and Cash Obando posted a time of 3:21.76.
At USC, Matthew Bender placed sixth in the javelin with a throw of 57.31 meters (188 feet), while Cytres Vives followed in seventh at 48.34 meters (158 feet, 7 inches).
