Madison Le Sets Program Record With 63 In First Round At Big West Championship

The senior was -9 on the Royal Ka’anapali Course in Lahaina to lead the championship.
LAHAINA, Hawaii – Senior Madison Le had nine birdies with no bogeys, breaking the program record for a single round with a nine-under par 63 to open the Big West Championship in the tournament lead after the opening round of play Sunday.
Day One Results
Le started with five straight pars and then went to work at the Royal Ka'anapali course, finishing the front nine with three birdies in four holes, throwing up three straight threes from 11 through 13 and then closing the day with three final birdies to card a career-low round of 63. That was one stroke better than the previous best round of 64, set by Jasmine Leovao in October of 2023.
That put the senior in first place overall at the championship with a six stroke lead over Vani Karimanal of UC Davis and Maline Kraus of Hawai'i.
As a team, Long Beach State was tied for second place overall with Cal Poly a -1, two strokes behind tournament leaders UC Davis after the opening round. Emma Kang and Alyson Sor each shot 74, while freshman Kailey Yoon finished with a 76 in her first Big West Championship round. Junior Erin Lee had the day's drop score of 78.
