Elisa Portillo Named Big West Women’s Water Polo Player Of The Week

This is the second weekly award win for the senior this season.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – For the second time in the season, senior Elisa Portillo was named Big West Women's Water Polo Player of the Week as the league announced this Wednesday.
Portillo led No. 8 Long Beach State (12-9, 3-1 Big West) to a perfect weekend after defeating No. 16 UC San Diego on the road for conference play, 19-11, as the senior scored a team-high four goals and dished three assists. Staying south, LBSU faced two East Coast programs at the Aztec Invite, defeating Bucknell, 19-6, and No. 9 Indiana, 12-7. Portillo added another four-goal game against the Hoosiers and added one against the Bison.
The senior attacker leads the team across three categories with 52 goals, 39 assists and 26 steals.
The Beach will host Cal State Fullerton for Big West play Saturday with first sprint scheduled for Noon with live stats provided through TheFOSH.net.
