SCOUTING THE DUCKS
Oregon begins the week with a 5-0 record after defeating Colorado State Saturday night in five sets for the program's 1,000th win. Oregon received 61 votes this week in the AVCA/TeraFlex poll, the most by any team outside of the top 25.

Valentina Vaulet leads the Ducks in hitting percentage (.348), kills (68), and service aces (10). She has recorded 36 digs, the third-most on the team, and 13 blocks (the second-most).

This is the 12th meeting between Long Beach State and Oregon, with the Beach leading 6-5.
SCOUTING THE AZTECS
San Diego State is 2-3 to begin the week. The Aztecs went 1-2 at the University of Houston's Flo Hyman Classic last weekend.

Taylor Underwood has tallied a team-high 65 kills for SDSU. She is second on the club in hitting (.222) behind Campbell Hague (.273). Zara Stewart's 69 digs are a team-high. Hague is tied for the team lead in service aces (15) with Natalie Hughes and is tied for second with Hughes in team blocks (15).

Dating back to 1965, this is the 63rd time that LBSU and SDSU are playing Women's Volleyball. Long Beach State leads the series 34-28.
KING REPEATS AS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Logan King has been named the Big West Freshman Volleyball Player of the Week for the second straight week, the conference announced Sept. 8.

She is the first LBSU player to be named Big West Freshman of the Week in back-to-back weeks since the award was established in 2014.

King opened the week with an impressive performance against No. 19 UCLA on Sept. 1, recording 18 kills, seven digs, and five blocks in a hard-fought 3-2 loss. At the University of San Francisco's Battle at the Bay, she added 11 kills and 11 digs in a 3-0 setback to Portland State.

The opposite continued her standout play at Santa Clara's Mission Classic, where she and teammate Elise Agi each tallied 16 kills in a 3-1 victory over the Broncos. King hit .400 in the match while posting her first collegiate double-double with 10 digs. She closed the weekend with 11 kills and two blocks on a .321 hitting percentage in a sweep of host San Francisco.

King was named the Big West Freshman Volleyball Player of the Week on Sept. 1 after pacing the Beach to a 1-1 record during the opening week of competition against No. 6 Stanford and Oregon State. In the season opener versus the Cardinal, King recorded 13 kills, nine digs, two service aces, and two assists in a 3-1 loss.

King led LBSU to a sweep of Oregon State. She posted 17 kills on .419 hitting while adding four digs, two block assists, and an ace.

King is fourth in the Big West in kills (85) and kills per set (3.86). The 6-foot-2 opposite is fifth in points (98.5) and fifth in points per set (4.48). She is 11th in the Big West in hitting (.295) and tied for 13th in blocks (19, 0.86).

King was selected as one of 12 players on the Volleyball Canada Women's U21 National Team, competing at the U21 NORCECA Pan Am Cup (July 20-28 in Costa Rica) and the FIVB U21 World Championship (Aug. 7-17 in Indonesia).

King was named Best Opposite at the U21 Pan Am Cup after helping Canada to the bronze medal match. She scored 13 points in the final against Costa Rica and posted 20 points against the Dominican Republic, tied for the second-highest single-match total in the tournament.

At the World Championship, King recorded 105 points (88 kills), ranking 20th among all individual players.
LBSU-CSUF SCHEDULE CHANGE
Long Beach State has announced a schedule adjustment to its Big West Conference slate, affecting both matchups with Cal State Fullerton.

Due to facility issues at Cal State Fullerton, the two programs will exchange home dates. The match originally slated for Sept. 27 in Fullerton will now be played at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, with first serve set for 6 p.m.

Conversely, the contest scheduled for Oct. 31 in Long Beach will shift to Titan Gym in Fullerton, also with a 6 p.m. start time.
AGI NAMED TO ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM AT SANTA CLARA
Senior Elise Agi was named to the All-Tournament Team at Santa Clara's Mission Classic.
In Long Beach State's lone match of the tournament, Agi tied with Logan King for a team-high 16 kills in the 3-1 victory over the host Broncos. Agi charted nine digs and one service ace during the match.

Agi, who redshirted in 2024 due to injury, is second on the Beach with 62 kills and is third in digs with 45. Agi has registered 10 blocks this season.

Agi participated in the USA Volleyball Women's National Team Open Program in Colorado Springs, Colo. (Feb. 21-23), a key development initiative connecting NCAA programs to the U.S. Women's National Team and NTDP.

The WNT Open Program serves as a pathway for future national team and age-group selections. In 2025, the U.S. Women's National Team competed in the Volleyball Nations League, Pan American Cup, and NORCECA Final Six.
MAXWELL DIRECTS THE OFFENSE
Madi Maxwell is directing the Long Beach State offense this season. She is third in the Big West in assists with 203 (9.23 per set).

The 6-2 sophomore is the LBSU leader with 61 digs. She is fourth on the team in blocks with 15. Maxwell is hitting .396 with 23 kills on 48 attempts (23-4-48) and has added three service aces.

HOSTING THE BLOCK PARTY
Long Beach State has been effective at the net through six matches. LBSU is fourth in the Big West in blocks with 54.

HAMAKER'S STRONG HITTING WEEK
Freshman Sidney Hamaker had a strong hitting performance during the Long Beach State swing through the Bay Area.

Hamaker hit .500 with nine kills, one error, on 16 attempts (9-1-16) against Portland State. She made one hitting error in 22 chances as she posted a season-best 11 kills (.500). Hamaker tied her season best with 11 kills against San Francisco and hit a season-high .474 (11-2-19).

Hamaker now sits third in the Big West in hitting at a team-best .365 (37-10-74).
