
LBSU Beach Volleyball Looks To Defend Best In The West Title

The Beach will continue to face Top 10 teams this weekend in Laguna Beach.
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Long Beach State will compete alongside other top ranked programs as they look to defend their Best in the West title at the third annual tournament.Â
Long Beach State will face Stetson at 9 a.m. on Saturday and No. 6 Cal Poly at 11 a.m. The second day of competition will see them play No. 4 Stanford at 9 a.m. and shortly after face North Florida at 10 a.m.Â
The Beach lost four close duals in Baton Rouge, including a close battle against No. 2 TCU. Demi Wagdy and Megan Widener were able to defeat their opponents in straight sets, as they were the lone dual point for Long Beach State. Wagdy and Widener were named Big West Pair of the Week as they went 3-1 over ranked opponents during the Death Volley Invitational.Â
