Six From Beach Volleyball Earn All-Big West Honors

Seniors Malia Gementera and Taylor Hagenah earned First Team honors for the fourth time.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Seniors Taylor Hagenah and Malia Gementera earned First Team All-Big West honors for the fourth and final time of their careers, highlighting a phenomenal career with another top achievement. The top pair for the Beach highlighted six student-athletes honored by the conference following the 2026 regular season.
Long Beach State's career leaders in wins, Malia Gementera and Taylor Hagenah enter their final tournament with 119 wins in their careers, all coming as partners together. Competing in the top flight for every match this season, the duo posted a 24-10 overall record to help push Long Beach State overall to a 25-11 record this season. The duo have earned First Team All-Big West honors in all four seasons of their careers at LBSU.
Another repeat winner is Demi Wagdy, as the sophomore earned Second Team All-Big West honors for the second season in a row. The 2025 Big West Freshman of the Year, Wagdy was joined by her partner in Tineke Hinton on the second team, as the sophomores avoided any kind of the slump. The pair had the second best record on the team in 2026, going 22-9 while playing together in the second flight through the majority of the season.
Sophomore Kiara Edwards earned Honorable Mention. The San Jose State transfer played primarily at the threes in her first season at Long Beach State, but put together an overall record in that flight of 16-11 and was 4-1 with Savannah Standage in flight two, ultimately compiling a 21-13 overall record this season as an individual.
Redshirt Freshman Victoria Henkel was named to the five-player All-Freshman Team. In her first season of competition with Long Beach State, Henkel was 19-14 overall and went 16-8 in the fourth flight as an individual to join four others, including Big West Freshman of the Year, Kiera Cornman from Hawai'i.
Long Beach State has claimed a spot in the NCAA Championship for the fourth consecutive season, earning the nine seed as an at-large selection. The Beach will face eight seed California in the first round at 10 a.m. PT on Friday, May 1.
