No. 10 Beach Volleyball Splits Two Matches To Close Season At Loyola Marymount

Long Beach State fell at LMU but swept Utah in the final matches before the Big West Championship.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Megan Widener won the 100th match of her Division I career as the Beach swept Utah but lost at No. 4 Loyola Marymount in the final day of the regular season.
Long Beach State (23-11) started the day with a sweep of Utah (18-10). Skyler Germann and Megan Widener grabbed a straight-set win to start the match and the second flight did the same. The third flight pair of Haley Carrington and Natalie Glenn clinched the dual. Malia Gementera and Taylor Hagenah completed the sweep for the Beach.
Malia Gementera and Taylor Hagenah were the lone dual point in the match against No. 4 LMU (29-6). The duo had a dominant first set against their opponents and battled in a close second set. They are currently on a ten-win streak.
The Beach will compete in the Big West conference tournament next week in Santa Monica.
