LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf returns to action, taking part in the Yale Invitational West hosted by Yale at PGA West in La Quinta on March 10 and 11.
The 54-hole event will have two rounds Monday before a final round on Tuesday, and features a strong field from around the nation. Ten of the 12 teams competing are ranked in the Top 75, including Long Beach State, led by No. 12 Vanderbilt and No. 15 North Carolina. The field also includes Kansas, Virginia Tech, San Diego State, Grand Canyon, Princeton, Oklahoma State, Cal Kansas State and the hosts, Yale.
Long Beach State's lineup will follow the finishing order from their last tournament, the Bruin Wave Invitational. Junior Janae Leovao finished just outside the Top 10 in a tie for 11th place, seven-over par at Valencia Country Club, one of six Top 20 finishes this season for the junior. She was three strokes ahead of Jasmine Leovao at the Bruin Wave, who will play second for Long Beach State. Jasmine Leovao is five strikes under par on the season, averaging a team best 71.8 strokes per round and has finished in the Top 20 in every tournament this year for Long Beach State.
Playing third is junior Madison Le. Le has placed third in each of the spring tournaments this season for Long Beach State, but shared that spot at the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic with sophomore Erin Lee, who will play fourth for the Beach. Graduate Transfer Hannah Jugar returns to the lineup to close out the team for Long Beach State in the desert.
