Janae Leovao In Top Ten After Two Rounds At Yale Invitational West

Janae Leovao put up two straight rounds under par to tie for ninth at 3-under through 36 holes.
LA QUINTA, Calif. – Junior Janae Leovao closed day one of the Yale Invitational West in a tie for ninth place, leading Long Beach State after two rounds from PGA West in La Quinta, Calif.
Day One Results
Janae Leovao began the day with 70, shooting an eagle anon the par four sixth with four birdies in the round, and followed that up with a 71 in round two to finish the day at three-under par. Jasmine Leovao had a back-and-forth day, also putting up an eagle in a 5-under par 67 in the first round, but the junior shot 77 in the second to finish the day in a tie for 20th place.
The twin sisters would lead the Beach after the first day of action. Sophomore Erin Lee closed the day in a tie for 34th place at three-over, starting the day with a 73 before closing the second round with a 74. Hannah Jugar and Madison Le were both tied for 56th overall in the 69-golfer field, 11-over par.
Long Beach State is tied for 9th place out of 12 teams after the first day, even with Cal at +10 in a very strong field featuring seven teams in the Top 50 nationally.
