Janae Leovao Leads Women’s Golf At Bruin Wave Invitational

Long Beach State placed seventh overall as a team as Janae, Jasmine Leovao each finished in the Top 20.
VALENCIA, Calif. – Juniors Janae Leovao and Jasmine Leovao both finished in the Top 20 at the Bruin Wave Invitational, leading Long Beach State's time at the event from Valencia Country Club co-hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine.
Final Results
Janae Leovao, who came into the day sharing the top spot for Long Beach State on the leaderboard, had the low score of the day for the Beach with a 77 to finish in a tie for 11th place overall, recording two birdies in the final three holes of the day on the way to her sixth Top 20 finish of the season.
Jasmine Leovao was two strokes behind Janae on Tuesday, shooting 79 to place in a tie for 18th as she has finished in the Top 20 in every competition for the Beach this season. Junior Madison Le placed in a tie for 38th overall after a final round 78, while sophomore Erin Lee also shot a 79 to place in a tie for 53rd.
Playing as an individual, Hannah Jugar tied for 62nd overall and Isabelle Olivas-Lowell finished her first tournament in the lineup with a final day 84.
The co-hosts ran away with the tournament, as UCLA had the top three individual finishers and finished the tournament 22 strokes ahead of Baylor. Long Beach State placed in seventh place overall, in front of Cal State Fullerton and Santa Clara and two strokes behind New Mexico in sixth.
Long Beach State will get a week off, and then return to action at the Yale Invitational West, returning to the desert to play at PGA West in La Quinta on March 10 and 11.
