
Janae Leovao Leads LBSU In Top 5 At Bruin Wave Invitational

Both Leovao sisters are in the Top 10 after the first two rounds Monday.
VALENCIA, Calif. – Janae Leovao is tied for fourth and Jasmine Leovao tied for sixth after 36 holes at the Bruin Wave Invitational. The twin sisters lead Long Beach State who are in fifth place as a team with 18 holes remaining in the tournament.
Rounds 1 and 2 Scoring
Janae Leovao opened the day with an even par 72, the low round of the day for LBSU, and closed the second with a 74 to sit two over par after the first two rounds of action at the Bruin Wave Invitational. Jasmine Leovao is one stroke behind after two rounds at three over, also scoring 74 in the second round after a 73 in the first.
Junior Madison Le shot a 75 in the second round to climb up the leaderboard after a 79 in the first round, while sophomore Erin Lee is tied for 52nd overall after a first round 77 and a second round 83.
As a team, Long Beach State is in fifth place, two strokes behind the co-hosts Pepperdine in fourth place.
Newcomer Isabelle Olivas-Lowell, making her debut in the Beach lineup, was the drop score in both rounds. Graduate Hannah Jugar finished the day tied for 56th overall while playing as an individual. The co-hosts UCLA have the top two individual scores and lead the team competition by a wide margin heading into the final round.
