Logan King Ties Big West Record With Seventh Freshman Of The Week Honor

King had 18 kills on .359 hitting in Long Beach State’s win at Hawai’i.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Redshirt freshman Logan King closed out the regular season by winning a seventh Big West Freshman of the Week award, tying a conference record in the process after leading the Beach to two more wins as part of a four-match winning streak to close out league play.
Long Beach State closed out the regular season with a par of road wins, with King leading the team in kills in both matches. At UC San Diego, King finished with 11 kills on .409 hitting in a quick 3-0 sweep of the Tritons.
King then played a major role in a win on the road at Hawai'i, the first win for the program in Honolulu since 2014. King led all players with 18 kills on .359 hitting, finishing with a double-double, her tenth of the season in a 3-1 victory against the Rainbow Wahine.
With her seventh win, King ties Adlee Van Winden of Cal Poly in 2015 for the most Freshman of the Week awards in a single season for the Big West.
King finishes the regular season tied for first in the Big West in both total kills and total points, and was third overall in kills and points per set for the conference during the season.
