Madi Maxwell Repeats As Big West Setter Of The Week

Maxwell led Women’s Volleyball to three more wins as the Beach has now won six straight.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Junior setter Madi Maxwell has won a second consecutive Big West Setter of the Week award after leading Long Beach State to three more wins last week.
Long Beach State has now won six straight matches in large part due to the excellence of Maxwell. The preseason All-Big West selection shined again, guiding the team to .242 hitting over the week as the Beach stayed unbeaten.
Opening the week against Brown, Maxwell shared the team lead with eight digs while making eight kills and 31 assists. Against San Jose State, Maxwell again had 8 kills while making a team-high 15 digs and 31 assists for the second straight match.
Finishing the weekend, Maxwell led the Beach to .282 hitting against 7-1 LMU in a dominant sweep of the Lions. Feeding the hot hands, Maxwell had 27 assists and 7 digs while setting up Reagan Hope (9 kills, .571 hitting) and Sidney Hamaker (15 kills, .480 hitting) in a big win for LBSU in the early part of the season.
Maxwell was the Big West Setter of the Week on September 7 as well after leading the Beach to three wins at the Utah Classic. The junior has now won five Big West Setter of the Week awards in her career and seven total Big West weekly honors in her three seasons at Long Beach State.
