Long Beach State Women’s Volleyball Hosts LMU in Saturday Exhibition Contest

The Beach and the Lions will face off at 1 p.m. at the Walter Pyramid
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State Women's Volleyball team hits the court for the first time in the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 24 when the Beach host Loyola Marymount in an exhibition contest at 1 p.m.
The exhibition contest is a ticketed event.
The Beach, which were chosen to finish third in The Big West Preseason Coaches' Poll, are returning 13 letterwinners from a year ago, highlighted by 2023 Big West Setter of the Year Zayna Meyer. Meyer went on to collect All-Region honors. She is joined on The Big West Preseason Team by senior outside hitter Natalie Glenn, who was a 2023 All-Big West Second Team selection.
In addition to a talented slate of returners, Long Beach State has also added four newcomers in freshman middle blocker Preslie Yates, freshman setter/opposite Madi Maxwell, freshman defensive specialist Kamryn Santi, and freshman setter Madi Collins.
LBSU is led by Interim Head Coach Natalie Reagan, who is in her first year at the helm after serving as an assistant coach last season. Joining Reagan on the sidelines are Associate Head Coach Bjarne Huus and Assistant Coach Jordan Molina, who are both Long Beach State alumni.
The Beach kick off the 2024 campaign on the road, before playing their home opener against Northwestern on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m., in the Walter Pyramid.
