Omri Shiff runs in the semifinals of the 400m hurdles at the NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships Wednesday night.
Shiff advanced to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 400m hurdles by recording a time of 50.55 at the NCAA West Regional on May 24. Shiff ran the fourth fastest time in school history to finish 10th in the event. He will enter the competition as the 22nd seed.
Wednesday's semifinals will have three heats, with eight entries in each heat. The top nine finishers advance to Friday's finals. The top two in each heat move on, plus the following three best times.
The entries earn first-team All-America status by finishing among the top 9 of the 400m hurdles race. Second-team All-America honors go to the racers who finish between 10th and 16th place. The competitors who finish between 17th and 24th receive honorable mention All-American status.
