Women’s Water Polo With Three Athletes Named ACWPC All-America

For the second year in a row, three honorees matched the program record for most All-Americans in a single season.
LONG BEACH, Calif. - For the second consecutive year, Long Beach State had three athletes receive All-America honors after the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced their top players from the 2024 season on Thursday.
After a record breaking season, First Team All-Big West selection Lara Luka earned second-team All-America, the second player in program history to receive this honor. Luka set two new program records with 88 goals and 54 assists, leading the team in both categories this season.
Martina Cardona earned Honorable Mention honors for the second straight year. The junior finished third on the team with 44 goals, while adding 24 assists. She finished with the second best sprint percentage in the Big West (.794) while winning 34 total sprints.
Senior Mariah Walker was also an Honorable Mention honor after her strong performance in 2024. Walker led the Beach with 43 drawn exclusions. Offensively, she finished fourth on the team in goals with 43 on a .500 shooting percentage.
Long Beach State finished with a final ranking of No. 6 in the nation, the program's highest final national ranking, after going 22-9 on the season.
