Leovao Shoots 79 On Second Day Of NCAA Championship

The sophomore continues the tournament tomorrow with a third round tee time of 2:12 p.m.
CARLSBAD, Calif. – Sophomore Janae Leovao continued her time at the NCAA Championship with a second round 79 on Saturday at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif.
The 79 combined with her opening day 73 put the Oceanside, Calif. native in a tie for 101st in the 156 golfer field after the second of two guaranteed rounds.
Loevao had a steady start to the day with a pair of birdies, but had bogeys on 12 through 14 before a birdie on 15, ending up 3-over through nine holes Saturday. A birdie on the 5th had Leovao at 5-over with four holes left on the day. The sophomore then closed the round with a double bogey and three pars.
The tournament continues on Sunday with a third round for the entirety of the field. Following the third round of action, a cut will occur reducing the field to 15 teams and the top 9 individual golfers not on those teams.
