LA JOLLA, Calif.—The Long Beach State men's and women's track and field teams completed action at UC San Diego's Triton Invitational on Saturday.
MEN
Daniel Palacio tied for third in the pole vault with UC San Diego's Kyle Gibbs as both went 16-5 1/4.
Aiden Pastorian tallied a season best 56-4 1/2 in the elite shot put to come in third.
Jaylon Wells turned in a fifth place showing in the elite shot put when he recorded a mark of 55-4 1/4.
Pablo Gamez placed sixth in the hammer with a toss of 195-3 with the mark coming on his last throw of the competition.
Micah Norfles charted a new season best in the hammer, 182-5, to finish eighth in the event.
WOMEN
Charlotte O'Connor tied for sixth in the pole vault with an unattached competitor, Alyana Nicolas, as the duo cleared 12-5 1/4.
UP NEXT
Long Beach State hosts the Pacific Coast Invitational on Thursday and the Beach Invitational next Friday and Saturday. The Beach will also send entries to the Bryan Clay Invitational next week as well.
