No. 8 Long Beach State Heads To Michigan For Michigan Invite

The Beach will face Saint Francis, No. 9 Michigan and Bucknell this weekend.

LONG BEACH, Calif.- No. 8 Long Beach State is back on the road for another tournament as they will head to Michigan to compete at the Michigan Invite Saturday and Sunday.

The Beach (13-6, 2-0 Big West) will open up the tournament with a game against Saint Francis on Saturday, March 23 at 9:15 a.m. PT. The Beach will finish Saturday play with a contest against tournament host No. 9 Michigan at 2 p.m. PT.

On Sunday, the Beach will take on Bucknell at 9:15 a.m. PT for the final game of the tournament.

Lara Luka is the leading scorer for Long Beach State with 57 goals on the season. Luka is now 10 goals away from 100 career goals with the Beach. Elisa Portillo leads the team in steals with 23 and is second in goals with 37. Portillo is also closing in on the career milestone as she is eight goals away from 100 career goals.
