Playing around three separate rain delays, Long Beach State lost their final two games at the Judi Garman Classic.
FULLERTON, Calif. – Long Beach State battled through multiple rain delays but ultimately didn't come out on top on the scoreboard in their two final games at the Judi Garman Classic, falling to Oregon State and Fresno State Saturday.

Oregon State's only action in Kate Barnett's first trip through the lineup was a solo home run from Lici Campbell, but the Beavers broke the game open in the fourth inning. Campbell singled to get Oregon State (8-10) going, the first of six straight hits for the Beavers that opened the lead to 6-0.

Coming out of a lengthy rain delay, Long Beach State (3-17) got their first run of the game as Selena Perez came home on an RBI groundout from Makayla Medellin in the top of the fifth. Sarah Haediges finished off the complete game for Oregon State and earned the win.

Mo Quinlan got off to a great start in the circle for Long Beach in the second game, striking out the side in the first inning and then Long Beach State took the lead in the second. Two walks and a hit batter loaded the bases, and then an RBI groundout from Jocylyn Vidal put the Beach on top 1-0.

Fresno State (13-5) took their first lead in the bottom half of the inning. Pinch hitter Alyssa Orr started the inning with a single, and after a walk, a double from Emma Martinez tied the game. An RBI single Alyssa Ramirez then put the Bulldogs in front 2-1.

Long Beach State tied the game in the third with an RBI single from Medellin. Fresno State had their own answer with a big fourth inning. With two on and one out, a walk and a hit batter scored the tying run. Two station-to-station singles scored two more while keeping the baes loaded before a two-run single from Lauren Almeida made the score 7-2.

Fresno State added one more run in the sixth, and Ruby Anderson finished off the 8-2 win for the Bulldogs with one inning of relief in the seventh.

Long Beach State returns home next week, hosting their annual Louisville Slugger Invitational at the LBSU Softball Complex. The tournament will open with a single game Wednesday night on ESPN+ as the Beach hosts Toledo.
