The award from Collegiate Sports Communicators honors high achievement in both competition and the classroom.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – After a 30-win season, Long Beach State Softball had four student-athletes earn CSC Academic All-District, recognizing top performance in the classroom and in competition.
Nominees for this honor must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, hold at least sophomore academic standing, and meet stringent performance standards in their respective sports.
Isabella Alonso came to Long Beach State as a Division I transfer, and completed her collegiate career in her home town of Long Beach. A second-team All-Big West selection, Alonso carried a 4.00 institutional GPA and led Long Beach State in the circle with a 12.7 record, throwing a team-high 124.2 innings pitched with 44 strikeouts.
Joining her in the circle was graduated student Lindsey Cowans. Part of the Sport Management master's program at Long Beach State, Cowans, was second on the team with 64.1 innings pitched on the season, making 14 starks and winning four games with a save coming against Oklahoma.
Emily Dowden had a breakout season for the Beach. Starting in 37 games, the Psychology major hit .289 and had 8 doubles and two home runs with 15 walks, reaching base with a .384 on-base percentage while playing as an everyday starter in the outfield.
Finally, transfer Audree Mendoza was also named All-District. Mendoza started every game in 2026 for Long Beach State after joining the Beach from Penn State, and hit .241 with 10 doubles, two triples and two home runs with 28 RBI on the season. The American Studies major split time between catcher, the outfield and designated player, highlighting her versatility.
Alonso previously earned the award twice at CSUN, while it is the first honor for the other three recipients.
