No. 7 Beach Volleyball Set To Take On Big West Challenge

Long Beach State will head up north to take on all conference opponents this weekend.
LONG BEACH, Calif. — No. 7 Beach Volleyball will play all six conference opponents in three days as they head up to Sacramento and the campus of UC Davis.
The Beach will start the Big West Challenge at Sacramento State as they face CSU Bakersfield at 12:30 p.m. and the co-host Hornets at 3 p.m. on Friday. The next day they will face CSUN at 9 a.m. and Hawaii at 1 p.m. On Sunday they will travel to UC Davis to face Cal Poly at 9 a.m. and co-host UC Davis at 11 a.m.
Long Beach State (14-2) is coming off an undefeated run at home, beating multiple ranked opponents. Christine Deroos and Megan Widener are currently 15-1, with their most recent victory coming from a battle at the third flight against conference opponent CSUN (9-6). The pair of Malia Gementera and Taylor Hagenah are also on a hot streak as they went 6-0 this past week. The duo took down the first flight pairs from No. 11 Arizona State (11-3) and No. 15 Georgia State (9-8) to clinch two wins for the Beach. Their efforts at the top flight earned them Big West Pair of the Week.
