No. 10 Long Beach State Set To Host Two Games This Week

The Beach will take on No. 19 Harvard Tuesday and Cal State Fullerton Saturday.
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Long Beach State will be back at Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center this week for two games. The Beach will first host No. 19 Harvard on Tuesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. and then continue Big West play against Cal State Fullerton Saturday, March 19 at Noon.Â
Over the weekend, the Beach opened conference play with a win over No. 13 UC Santa Barbara 10-4. Lara Luka led the offense with three goals and Chelsea Oliver's nine saves held the Gauchos to only four goals. Martina Cardona contributed two goals and one assist in the win.
The Beach will host Harvard Tuesday night as they enter the game with a 10-8 record after their win over No. 21 San Diego State last weekend. This will be the third matchup between the two teams with the Beach leading the series 2-0.
On Saturday, the Beach will continue Big West action as they will take on Cal State Fullerton (9-11) at Noon. The Beach are 1-0 over the Titans after taking the first matchup in 2023 during their inaugural season. The Titans will look to leading scorer, Shyanne Rainey, who has 43 goals on the season.Â
Rachael Kowalchick is four goals away from becoming the 22nd Beach player to reach 100 career goals. Luka's three goals over the weekend bring her season total to 53, good for second in conference and seventh nationally.Â
