ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—A pair of school records highlighted day two for Long Beach State at the University of New Mexico's Don Kirby Invitational Saturday at The Albuquerque Convention Center.

MEN
Kash Powell broke the school record in the 800m as he ran 1:48.79aa. The old mark of 1:49.83 was set by Alex Freitas in 2008. Powell's time earned him fourth place in the field of 32.
Cameron Rhone joined Powell in the top 10 as his 1:51.22aa became the third fastest in school history. Rhone followed Powell in fifth.
Alex Kalmar placed third in the mile run by running the fourth fastest time in school history, 4:08.08aa. Kalmar moved up two places to sixth on the school's top 10 in the 800m when he posted a time of 1:52.06aa. Kalmar finished 11th in the 800m
In the same mile heat, Kyle Reden posted the sixth-quickest mark in school history, 4:11.05aa. Reden would come in sixth overall. Reden joined the top 10 in school history in the 800m as his 1:52.48aa is now the eighth quickest. Reden placed 12th overall in the 800m.
Novye' James (49-9 3/4) and Elijah Harris (48-10) finished eighth and ninth in the triple jump, respectively. Harris' mark moved him into a tie for ninth with Michael Vaughn (2013) in school history in the event.
The 4x400m relay of Omri Shiff, Justin Watterson, Caleb Roberson, and Malik Harness recorded the fifth fastest time in school history, 3:14.55aa, to come in eighth.
Jaylon Wells placed 10th in the shot with a 54-10 3/4 toss.
WOMEN
Cameron Rhone joined Powell in the top 10 as his 1:51.22aa became the third fastest in school history. Rhone followed Powell in fifth.

Sofia Lavreshina ran the 400m for the second consecutive indoor meet under the previous school record time. Lavreshina broke the 54-second mark and her 53.68aa again beat the Kerri Zaleski's 1988 mark of 54.79. The junior from Pombal, Portugal, finished fourth in the invitational field 30.
Jenelle Hurley finished second in the unseeded 60m hurdles at 9:11aa.
The 4x400m relay of Lavreshina, Rahni Turner, Kaitlyn Williams, and Amyah Davis put up a 3:48.73aa, the fourth fastest in school history. The relay placed 14th overall.
