The four golfers all have strong junior resumes prior to coming to the Beach.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf Head Coach Alyssa Waite and her staff have gained the commitments of three local high schoolers who are all scheduled to join the team for the 2025-26 campaign, as well as adding a junior college transfer who will join the program this coming spring.

"Overall, we focused on Southern California talent for 2025," said Waite. "We have a great pipeline here and I want to continue that. We are excited about the class of 2025 because we think this class will push the current team to become an even better version of themselves."

First to arrive will be Isabelle Olivas-Lowell. Coming from Citrus College, Olivas-Lowell was the 2023-24 CCCAA Individual Champion, posting a two-round score of 148, and was also the Western State Conference Individual Medalist. The WSC Women's Golfer of the year, she posted a stroke average of 74.17 as a true freshman last season. "Isabelle played well for Citrus College and will bring some more college golf experience to our team. We are excited for the attitude she will bring to the team and her ambition to grow her game," said Waite.

Olivia Chappell comes to the Beach from Brea-Olinda High School, and is coming off of a strong 2024 season in junior golf. Chappell was an individual medalist twice, winning the Toyota Tour Cup Wancho California Qualifier at Arrowhead County Club with a round of 83, as well as grabbing another win at the TTC Las Posas Qualifier also at Arrowhead with a one-under par 71. In total, she has 17 Top 10 finishes over the past two years. "Olivia is a great athlete and very dedicated to her craft. She has the grit to be a top athlete here at Long Beach," said Waite.

Summer Schafer comes to the Beach from Rancho Bernardo High School. On the FCG series she has three Top 5 finishes in the past year, and was the runner up at the Toyota Tour Cup Fallbrook Qualifier with a round of 69 at Brookside Country Club. "Summer is a long hitter that can score. She has been polishing her game since she committed over a year ago. We are excited to have her come in as a lineup contender from day one," said Waite.

Kailey Yoon rounds out the class, another high school senior playing at Canyon Crest High School. In the past three years, Yoon has had a trio of Top 10 finishes in the Toyota Tour Cup, including a round of 70 at the Golf Course at Rancho California. "Kailey showed her consistency round after round which is why she stood out. She is such a kind and sweet person that we are looking forward to having on our roster," said Waite.

Long Beach State women's golf are currently in their winter break, but will resume play on February 3 with a dual match against San Diego State before hosting their home tournament, the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic from Monterey Country Club in Rancho Mirage.
