For both players it was their career low at the Beach.
TUCSON, Ariz. – Junior Alyson Sor and freshman Kailey Yoon both shot in the 60s to finish the MountainView Collegiate, the best round at the Beach for both golfers as Long Beach State picked up two spots in the third and final round from The Preserve Country Club in Tucson.
Final Results
Kailey Yoon finished in the Top 10 for the first time in her career, capping off a great tournament with an even better final day. Yoon had five birdies with a pair of bogeys, closing the tournament with a 69. That moved the freshman up a spot into a tie for eighth place, the best finish of her career at -5 for the tournament.
Alyson Sor had the best round of the day for Long Beach State, also making five birdies with just one bogey for a four-under par 68. Senior Madison Le also had her best round of the tournament, finishing with an even par 72.
Emma Kang bounced back with her best round of the tournament, shooting a 74 to give the Beach their final counting score. As a team, Long Beach State was 5-under on Sunday, tied for the second-best round of the day to pass Nebraska and Wisconsin.
Long Beach State will have one final competition prior to the Big West Championships, returning to Arizona for the Wyoming Cowgirls Classic, held once again at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course April 7-8.
