Women’s Golf Opens 2026-27 Season With International Competition

The program is making their first official international trip to play in the Pan-Pacific University Golf Super League.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Golf will take advantage of a unique opportunity, flying to Japan to take part in their first competition of the season at the Pan-Pacific University Golf Super League. The first of three rounds over three days is scheduled for September 2.
The competition will count towards the season and features four American Division I universities playing with five Japanese universities over the course of three days at the Grand Fields Country Club in Mishima City, Japan. Nihon University will play host, a school that has routinely matched up against Long Beach State over recent years at the Bruin Wave Invitational.
Long Beach State is joined by NCAA counterparts San Jose State, Florida Gulf Coast and TCU, while Japanese schools joining Nihon include Tohoku Fukushi, Fukui University of Technology, Komazawa, and National Taiwan Sport University.
A veteran lineup will take part in the competition for Long Beach State. Senior Emma Kang will play fifth, coming off of her first season at Long Beach State where she had three Top 20 finishes. Alyson Sor had an impressive summer and was the top finisher for the Beach last season at the GameAbove Invitational. The senior will play fourth for LBSU.
New transfer Kylie Phi will make her Long Beach State debut in Japan after two seasons at San Diego State. Phi was a Top 10 finisher at last season's Mountain West Championship and had a 73.44 stroke average in 2025-26 and will play third in her first tournament for the Beach.
Sophomore Kailey Yoon finished in the Top 15 in two of Long Beach State's final three tournaments a year ago, and is looking to get off to a strong start in 2026, and fourth-year senior Erin Lee will start her 29th tournament with Long Beach State at the top of the lineup. The 2025 Honorable Mention All-Big West selection has six Top 20 finishes in her career.
